This year the racing scene is going to be awesome, at least for Nissan fans! Fans of the manufactures racing against Nissan will just have to use that old 'its a rebuilding year for our team' excuse as Gozilla is set to return to and dominate, 3 different racing series'. Across Europe, Africa and South America the GT-R's will once again terrorize in the FIA GT1 Series and in Japan the Super GT class is set to be forced into painful submission with a full factory backed effort. Here in the States the SCCA World Challenge GT Championship will see the return of the Nissan nameplate for the first time since 2005. The series will make a swing thru Long Beach this year which is why the Nissan Guy is so excited about racing this year! Thankfully the guys at Brass Monkey Racing decided that denying me the pleasure of watching a full fledged Godzilla attack had gone on long enough and are entering two full race prepped GT-R's into the American racing landscape, hence the nekkid Godzilla shown here. Follow each series over here... FIA, here; Super GT here and World Challenge here. OR, just check back with me! ;)

Eye candy that is! For a car guy such as myself there simply is not much that is more pleasing to the eye than Godzilla, and Godzilla in MOTION is like… like soft core carPorn! The guys at Motor Trend; who by the way have the best frekin job EVER, took Godzilla to the track along with a couple of purpose build high performance Scions simply for the pure joy of driving fast. The slow mo shots of the drifting are to die for! I know your at work but its so worth the 5 minutes, just tell your boss its beats him catching you playing computer solitaire! Check out the wonder of Godzilla sideways here. Not content with controlling the Chinese Touring Car Series and nearly every other class of racing it enters across Asia; Nissan has just announced that Godzilla will be racing the full season of the FIA GT Series for 2010. In a press release issued on Thursday January 14th, Nissan Motorsports International Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Minami-Ooi, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Yuichi Sanada; henceforth “NISMO”) announced that NISMO just signed the official partnership agreements for the FIA GT1 World Championship with Sumo Power GT (UK) and Swiss Racing Team (CH). Both teams will run two NISSAN GT-Rs respectively in the inaugural World Championship. NISMO will provide technical support to its new racing partners. Other details including driver line-up will be announced at the later date. The continued path to world domination begins in May with the first race of the season at Silverstone. Read the press release here and follow Godzilla here. When I saw the headline "German tuner gives Godzilla gorgeous matte black finish..." my heart skipped a beat. From the beginning I have dreamed of some one, anyone bringing the matte black craze to Godzilla, and today my dreams have come true. Unlike many dreams this one is even better in person! Go ahead, click the pic to go to the Jalopnik article complete with all the Hi Res glory that is a super tuned, matte black Godzilla! Spoiler alert, 580hp! Ok, now it that is the best of times, click here for the worst of times and see just what happens when the unqualified tries to tame ole Godzilla! |
