Here is the first full frontal, and side, inside etc… shot of the coming Nissan Juke. Guess what, I don’t hate it! Its really growin on me over the last 7 minutes I have had the chance to look at the whole picture. Yes it is initially a Europe only vehicle however, I am staring an online petition asap! America wants the Juke Nissan, can you hear us?! Now I just need to learn how to create an online petition, find out who to send it to and get about twenty thousand of my friends to sign.... More details as they become available but in the mean time click here for some really gorgeous pics…

YOKOHAMA (Feb. 8, 2010) - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that its eco-drive support system, Eco-mode function and Navigation-linked speed control, employed in Nissan's compact vehicles has won the ANRE (Agency for Natural Resources and Energy) Director-General's award in the 20th annual Energy Conservation Prize. Yeah, that’s the NAVI system that’s will slow the vehicle down if you are approaching a curve too fast and has the Smooth Acceleration Assist that will use computer calculations to speed up your car at the most ‘fuel efficient rate’. I haven’t driven one yet so I will save my cautious anticipations of self driven vehicles until its more widely released here in the States, but it is cool that Nissan is already winning awards with the technology! Read the press release here. Eye candy that is! For a car guy such as myself there simply is not much that is more pleasing to the eye than Godzilla, and Godzilla in MOTION is like… like soft core carPorn! The guys at Motor Trend; who by the way have the best frekin job EVER, took Godzilla to the track along with a couple of purpose build high performance Scions simply for the pure joy of driving fast. The slow mo shots of the drifting are to die for! I know your at work but its so worth the 5 minutes, just tell your boss its beats him catching you playing computer solitaire! Check out the wonder of Godzilla sideways here. I don’t think Nissan realizes that its Black History Month here in the states cause they are making the new 370Z 40th Anniversary ‘Black’ Edition available only in Europe! Hullooooooo! I’m pretty sure it was us here in America that totally made the whole ‘Z’ car franchise such a wildly successful line for Datsun/Nissan! I think the ole Nissan higher ups need to be giving props were day due, holla! Just sayin… More about the Black we don’t get to celebrate here. I have gone way out of my way to NOT take jabs at Toyota during their recent woes, you know how they are slimming down the population with their cars, and have tried to take the high road. Which is why I wanted to post an announcement from Nissan that addresses and responds to the recent and very serious concerns about vehicle safety, Nissan has issued an overview of the ways that Nissan has ensured that ‘unintended acceleration’ is not a cause for worry when driving a Nissan product. It address the three key areas of the issue other car makers are dealing with; the accelerator pedal, the start stop button and floor mats. Its worth taking a moment to click the picture, or the link here. Drive safe everyone. Well ahead of the February 10th debut at the Geneva Auto Show, my buddy Woody Thompson is showing a full undisguised pic of what could be the new Nissan Juke. Ok, he's not an actual friend of mine he's more like a guy that has a blog that I stumbled onto one day but still! The guy has some kind of magical gift for coming up with the ‘unfindable’ and never fails to score good Nissan sneaks! Word is that the Juke will initially be a Europe only model unless demand makes a US version feasible financially. Check out Woody's site here and use the comments section to cast your vote; yes we would luv to have it here or no way? ;) |
