Well, faithfull fans, the Nissan Guy is homeless... ok, not like HOMELESS but homeless in the sense that I, like about 500 others formally working for the Superior Auto Group, am now back on the street lookin for a gig. The economy claims another victom(s)! Just as things started to really get going the rug was pulled, a claasic case of to little to late, our recent short lived success was jus not enough to dig the group out of a huge hole. The Superior Auto Group shut the doors on all its dealers at the close of business on Tuesday Feb 24th, 2009. Heres a pretty good article with with a few more details from a bay area news paper you can check out. FEAR NOT fans, I will endeaver to find new and exciting... blah blah blah, oh crap. I'll find something, that much I know for sure, what I'll be sellin and where is the mystery but rest assured I'll keep you all posted....... wish me luck, and luck for everyone going thru the same....

Yup, thats him, the ole Terminator RAISING the reistration fees for vehicle sales here in California on Feb 20th. Well, to be fair, the budget included a ton of other stuff but its the reg fess that piss me off! Oops, sorry bout that, I shouldnt have used that type of language...... Its very frustrating though cause I remember back in 2004 when the fees went up and sales dropped statewide by like 30%, his whole campaign was centered on abolishing the 'car tax' and now he brings it back! Of course tha airways here in So Cal have been abuzz with nothing but the budget, screaming for a 'total recall' of the Aahnold. Nearly everyone will be affected by this latest nail in our economic coffin, kindergartens are being copped by receiving less funding, numerous tranportation projects were included in the 'collateral damage' and with an empty wallet I will have to quit the gym and take up 'running man'!!!! LOL, I so kill myself!!!!! Ahem, my apologies for all the bad movie references, I couldnt help ma self....... Hopefully these tough times wont force me to go 'comando' style cause I cant afford underware!!!! ha ha ha..... I understand the new budget is subtitled 'true lies'!!!!! Ok, ok, ok...... I have reached 'the end of days' of this.........

In a week chock full of heart wrenching news, like the whole Chris Brown thing, I mean whats up with that?????? Oh wait, I meant, with car industry news continuing to be a combination of bleak and negative there are a few more cassualties of the ever worsening economic auto 'pocolapse now' that we are enduring. The next generation Nissan Titan which was to be built on the Dodge Ram chassis has been put on indefinate hold as Chrysler struggles to stay a company. In the oevrview given to congress Chrysler even mentioned that the best bet for Chrysler would be a merger with GM, at this point its anyones guess where the future of 2 of the big three lies....... A small car built by Nissan to be sold as a Dodge has also been put off but who cares, I dont sell Dodge!!!!! Ok, thats not nice.... whatev!!  I'm thinking there are more than a few Chrysler exec's that are kicking themselves for not pursuing talks with Nissan last year when good old Carlos put the offer on the table........

January was rough, take it from someone who works in CAR SALES!!!! Yes, i know, it was probably rought for you too!!! As numbers are released about how things panned out for January there are a FEW glimmers of hope and boy dont we need 'em! Following is a small snippet from the offic' Nissan Press site, yeah, the one you CANT get into!!


FRANKLIN, Tenn. (February 11, 2009) – Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today reported sales for January of 53,884 units versus 76,605 units a year ago, a decrease of 29.7 percent. Sales of Nissan Division vehicles decreased 31.2 percent, while sales of Infiniti vehicles decreased by 17.7 percent.

NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS

*Nissan vehicles saw sales of 46,769 units in January compared with 67,961 units sold in January 2008, a 31.2 percent decrease.
*The all-new 2009 370Z, Nissan’s performance icon which went on sale in January, is off to a strong start with sales of 1,280 units, an increase of 47.0 percent versus prior-year levels.
*The compact and versatile Rogue crossover saw sales of 5,802 units, an increase of 6.8 percent from January 2008.


The real bummer is the anouncement that the much rumored replacement for the 240SX series (known in Japan proper as the Sylvia line) has been put on hold for now at least. This darn ecomony is so starting to harsh my mellow, YES, i have been wanting to use that phrase for a week!!!!!!! Ok, back to what I was sayin, blah blah blah.... From everything i have read about the turbo 4 cyl rwd coupe it is GOING to be pretty bitchen at some point, so we will call this reason number 412 we cant wait for things to get better!!! For the record, reasons 1-127 specifically deal with me needing new songs from the iStore and totaly not having any more credit!!!!!
