Arrrggghhh! Each year it seems I promise myself to make it back to Bonneville for SpeedWeek and each year it sneaks past me... This year without my even realizing it! Usually I am glued to my screen watching highlights of the time trials and wishing I was there, today I find out I missed the whole thing completely! In my defense I have been busy, I mean running the Fleet/Internet Sales Departments for both the #1 AND #4 Kia Dealers in California does take some of my time! Anyways, the pic here is not an error or photoshop, it is a blower sticking up through the SIDE of the hood, why you ask? Well, because its force feeding a STRAIGHT 8! Now thats just plain bitchen... More amazing pics over at the Bonneville coverage on SpeedHunters.com HERE.

By now you have heard or read about the NHTSA investigating a complaint about the loss of steering control on a 2010 Kia Soul, a complaint... one... single incident. No I am not downplaying the importance of one complaint, I simply want to put at ease any fears of broad loss of steering concerns. Kia also is taking the complaint very seriuosly, this is from the email sent to dealers today: "It is important to note that although there is but one complaint, the entire Kia Motors organization - including all suppliers - are reviewing the complete manufacturing process to fully determine if there is any indication at all of a manufacturing cause or if preventative actions need to be taken. KMA has always been and continues to be, fully committed to customer safety and will continue its policy of transparency and total sharing of information and findings with the NHTSA on an ongoing basis as we continue to investigate this incident to reach a prompt resolution. If any Kia Soul owner does not feel safe driving their own Soul they can call the Kia Roadside Assistance line at 800.333.4Kia and request their Soul be towed to the closest Kia dealer where the entire steering system will be fully inspected at no cost." Thats standing behind your product! Chekc back here for updates or the Kia site HERE. Oh, to be in Detroit this weekend... Yup thats right, its time again for the amazing Woodward Dream Cruise! Oh you dont know about the Woodward Dream Cruise? Your an idiot but here is a brief run down for you from the Woodward site: In August 1995, Nelson House and a group of volunteers looked to relive and recreate the nostalgic heydays of the 50s and 60s, when youth, music and Motor City steel roamed Woodward Avenue, America’s first highway. That year, 250,000 people participated—nearly ten times the number expected. The rest, as they say, is history.Today, the Woodward Dream Cruise is the world’s largest one-day automotive event, drawing 1.5 million people and 40,000 classic cars each year from around the globe—from as far away as New Zealand, Australia, Japan and the former Soviet Union. North American cruisers from California, Georgia, Canada and all points in between caravan to Metro Detroit to participate in what has become, for many, an annual rite of summer. Now, dont you feel like hittin the ole Rt 66 and making your way to Detroit? :) Check out the official site HERE. I have been a huge fan of Woodys Car Site for a long time and just recently I have sent him some sneak pics of cars that showed up at my dealership before anyone else has seen 'em; it was so cool to see my lil ole name on his site! Woody has spent a bit of time behind the wheel of the all new 2011 Sportage and posted his review today, its a great read and very well written I do say! His answer to the question of how the Sportage stacks up against its cousin the Tucson is classic! "Yes, I do like the styling and packing is a hell of a lot better, but more importantly I’m disappointed about Tucson’s rear visibility. The Sportage provide a great view in the back. When I went into reverse with the Tucson, the dome light blocked 60% of my view which I think over time will end up more of a frustration. Yes, you can use a backup camera but not when someone is on your tail at highway speeds. It may seem like a serious criticism but my advice is valid and for consumer purposes." Click HERE for the whole thing...NOW! ;) Pictured here is just another reason I love living in California, not specifically the GT3-RS in the picture but more the idea that while driving to work on our lil ole 215 freeway on any given day its POSSIBLE to see a car like this in the lane next to you! I'm pretty sure this doesnt happen in say, Iowa or Maine all that often! While my friends and fans know I so not the biggest German car fan, ya know being Italian and all, I do appreciate the 911 series of road machines as they are with out question bitchen! The moment I looked up and saw this powerful beast in the next lane I thought of my good friend George, hes a real Porsche fan so, heres to you G! :) |
