For many years I have complained, sometimes quite loudly, that there aren't enough automotive conferences on the west coast where there are literally hundreds of dealerships. This week my friend and way cool media guy Ryan Gerardi told me about the Thought Leadership Summits 2019 Automotive CX Summit coming up in June, and its right here in So Cal! My first reaction was embarrassment that I hadn't heard of it before, it's the 15th annual conference so it isn't new(!), very quickly that was replaced with interest so I have been checking it out and now I am super excited about it! The list of presenters is pretty high powered and it really looks like the place for dealers to learn the latest from the best in the biz at marketing, technology, and strategies for success. Ryan and his company AutoBurst Media will be covering the event and he has a discount code for dealers looking to attend, which I recommend seriously! Check it out here:

Every dealership has a Facebook page, that by itself simply does not mean you are doing Social Media right! The key ingredient in social media marketing is being SOCIAL! It is a CONTACT sport! Think about it... ;)
Google’s Human Truths team dug into the data and spoke with potential buyers to uncover the "3 roadblocks preventing car-buyers from going electric". Range anxiety, reliability concerns and lack of overall understanding of the technology top the list. A number of potential consumers expressed a real concern about worried about situations where you might need to leave in a hurry and you can’t because your car isn’t done charging. Google also found that the main thing people are looking up related to reliability is not so much about range, but rather the availability of charging stations. Range anxiety is a thing, so much so that Audi has even addressed it with their 'Range Tranquility' video. Also on the list of stumbling blocks for the EV industry is the misunderstanding of EV technology, many people are wrongly associating EV with autonomous vehicles. Overall the results are positive for the internal combustion powered auto market, at least for the time being ;)
