Social Media pro and MeetEdgar founder, Laura Roeder, Tweeted a great thread about the updates Twitter made to their Terms Of Service. If you are managing multiple accounts on Twitter it is critical you take a look at the new TOS!

As we look around and notice the clutter and dust that has gathered over the Winter we start to put together our Spring Cleaning list of activities. One of the best places to start, at least for business owners and managers, is by taking a good look at the Google Business listing for your company. It has been reported that 20% of all Google Searches are for local business, TWENTY PERCENT! That's a huge chunk of search traffic and one of the most important results that show up on a search is your Google Business listing, is it current? Is it correct, are there recent and relevant posts to help boost your visibility? How do you know??
It's time for Spring Cleaning! When we start our cleaning spree at home it's usually after we notice that cobwebs have formed or dust has gathered in corners and then we re-look at the places we have gotten complacent about over the prior months and notice how things have gotten dusty or cluttered right before our eyes without notice. It can happen in business as well! Often we get so caught up in the busy work of running our business we don't pay attention to all the little details that unfortunately can be the FIRST things a potential customer may notice! This dealership's Meet Our Team page has definitely been neglected, how does yours look? Are there staff members that no longer work for you there, or perhaps new team members that haven't been added yet? Now is the time to take a step back, look over all the pages of your dealerships website, take a few minutes to open your stores social media profiles and check some of your business listings through the eyes of a new visitor. Is the message consistent, current and really what you want being said? If not, call your Social Media company or, call Mike theCarGuy and together we can SUPERCHARGE the Social in your dealerships Social Media!
If you are paying an outside company to manage your companies Social Media do you know what they are saying on your behalf? If you aren't inspecting what you expect how can you be sure they aren't phoning it in? Take a look at this real example of what I mean. If you are ready to demand a better quality for your dealership, call Mike theCarGuy and together we can Supercharge the Social in your companies Social Media!
So many post and tweets from folks bummed out about Daylight Savings time, one of my clients even complained about it this afternoon... Here is what I shared with him on why he should be motivated and excited about it, not upset!
Recently I had the opportunity to be a guest on AutoConverse "On Air", a Live Weekly Broadcast hosted by way cool car guy Ryan G of AutoConversion.net and got to also meet automotive dynamo Mike Phillips to explore a couple big topics:
1) Where is your ad spend being used? 2) How is social and personal branding evolving the sales process at a salesperson level? Had a great time and some really awesome conversation, looking forward to the next time Ryan has Mike and Mike back on April 4th! If you are paying a 3rd party to post on Social Media for your company do you know what they are posting and saying on behalf of your company? Are you sure?
If you aren't inspecting what you are expecting you could end up in an awkward situation having to answer to your followers why your company made statements that may appear to be uncaring or even rude. Turning the keys to your online presence over to someone else could end up in a digital strike out if that company doesn't have your companies best interests ahead of your monthly check... Car dealerships deserve better Social Media, that's why I started Mike theCarGuy! Call me when you are ready to demand more and Supercharge your dealerships Social Media! Your Dealership Is Losing Deals You Aren't Even Aware Of
I wrote about this back in 2013 (https://goo.gl/TdNRN9) and I cannot understand for the life of me why its STILL happening! Same post, multiple dealers! My frustration with this type of stuff is this; this vendor is also being paid by the OEM so they are focused more on promoting that brand than where to buy it! They care only that a Ford is sold and not where the customer ends up buying it. As a dealer I was always offended by this because I felt we were paying good money to get some professional marketing efforts for my dealership, to boost our sales and separate us from the other dealers in the area. Two of these dealers are in the same zone, but they probably aren't inspecting what they are expecting and don't realize the same thing is being posted for many stores. Customers may not 'follow' multiple car dealers but if they are researching their next car they may indeed see this same post at multiple pages, and as they say 'you don't get a second chance to make a good first impression...' Wait... dealers don't know they are getting poor quality social media posts! That's why I started Mike theCarGuy as a company, to help dealers with the highest quality Social Media Management AND to help them understand better what their dealership looks like online so they know the difference! |
