Lately it seems more and more of my customers asks me why they should opt for the extra expense of factory NAVI when their cell phones can give them turn by turn directions for free. After I explain that cell service isnt really free, and that integration with iPods, Bluetooth and real time traffic are additional benefits in addition to not having some weird pod hanging from the windshield it is still generally a hard added cost to justify. As I wrote about some time ago Nissan will be introducing the most affordable NAVI system ever factory produced early next year and now we have a look at it. Integrated into the dash, able to charge and operate your iPod AND with back up camera capability! Show me a cell phone or windshield hanging thingy that can do that! The Detroit News thinks the world of the new system, and so does the Nissa Guy but you can read the views of the 'pro's' here!

we paid something like 2k for the nav system in our grand cherokee, it made a real pretty light show on the dash... never did use it!
