Although first reported at InsideLine, I didnt come across this till the next day as I think those dudes at Edmunds are weenies and I never read their site!!!! In part due to all the user problems and also probably the warranty costs of them..... Nissan has eliminated the launch control feature from the 2010 year model GT-R. Model-line Manager for Nissan North America, Marty Hussey, says that the update adds changes to the “software which alters shift points to improve acceleration by reducing transaxle stress.” He said that the move is a change to “improve the car and improve customer satisfaction.” Ahem, thats factory talk for 'this feature was misused and abused by one idiot to many so we are disabling it!!!! I'm pretty sure that if Nissan could pre select exactly who was eligible to purchase the GT-R without seeming discriminating they would!!! So the guy that slides his beater vette sideways into the driveway to buy his GT-R and gets the, "yeah, we're sorry sir but you just arent GT-R material..... try the Subaru store, I'm sure you can pick up an STi pretty cheap" !!!!!! No offense to the Suby guys intended!!!!!!!!!!! Haaaa Haaaaa, heres the rest.....Launch got Launched
